A strong public library is the very foundation upon which a city builds for the future. Visit the Library in the Forest and encounter patrons of all ages enjoying nature trails located just behind an invitingly beautiful building, which has become an integral part of the forest’s natural landscape. Inside, you might see emerging entrepreneurs in the Electronic Classroom planning new business strategies, children in the Treehouse listening to a master storyteller, teens creating wall art using colorful Post-It® Notes or adults partaking in a hot yoga class on the rooftop.

Our goal for 2017 is to raise $100,000+ for the development and creation of a Makerspace and multi-function room. This space will make a significant difference to all who want to come, learn, make and create.

But we want to do even more to enhance your experience at the Library in the Forest!
The Vestavia Hills Library Foundation (VHLF) was founded in 1997 to promote the Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest as a vibrant, indispensable community center that enriches the lives of all patrons. As such, the VHLF seeks public and private partnerships to sustain a perpetual endowment that complements the city’s funding of library operations. With your assistance, this endowment supports long-term growth, addresses emerging community needs and enhances life-long learning through diverse programming offered to children, teens and adults.
NOW IS THE TIME FOR YOU TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AT YOUR LIBRARY IN THE FOREST!
With your contribution of cash, securities and/or tangible personal property, the Library in the Forest will remain a vibrant, indispensable community center that enriches the lives of people in all seasons of life.
